Naniwa Traditional Series is designed as high-quality sharpening stones at an affordable price. This series is popular in households as well as professional kitchens in Japan and worldwide. Its dimensions and efficiency make it an ideal choice, especially for sharpening stainless steel knives.

Naniwa Traditional Standard #4000 sharpening stone is an ultra-fine stone designed for polishing the blade and achieving the final sharpness of a knife. Many professionals prefer their Japanese knives to be sharpened using this grit, as it leaves tiny serrations on the blade that give it a "bite," allowing it to start cutting automatically when placed against food. This stone is recommended as the final stage of sharpening Japanese steels, but it can also be used for high-quality German steels, such as those in Zwilling knives.

Dimensions: 210 × 70 × 20 mm
Weight: 600 g

How to use:
Stones from the Naniwa Traditional Standard series belong to the soaking type. Before use, they must be fully submerged in water and left for 10–15 minutes to absorb the required amount of moisture. This ensures that water stays on the surface during sharpening, providing the most effective conditions for achieving a sharp edge.

After use, allow the stone to dry at room temperature and avoid direct sunlight.

Note: The stone is fragile, so protect it from falls.
