Many sharpening professionals consider this series the best sharpening stones on the market. Naniwa, a renowned Japanese manufacturer of abrasives, has created this series as its highest-quality and most popular variant.
The #1000 grit from this series is a medium-fine stone, allowing you to achieve exceptional sharpness. Thanks to the polishing agents, the blade already gains an excellent edge and a perfect finish after use. When combined with a leather strop, this stone is all you need to achieve razor-sharp knives.
Dimensions: 210x70x20 mm
Weight: 800 g
Popular in Japan as Chosera, this stone is favored by professional sharpeners and hobbyists alike. Some advantages include:
Exceptional dimensions given the quality of the stone
Harder texture retains its shape well, reducing the need for flattening
Naniwa’s premium technology ensures maximum effectiveness even when sharpening extremely hard steels while maintaining a natural friction feel
"Splash & Go" technology – no pre-soaking needed
Usage instructions:
Place the stone on a stand or elevated surface to allow free hand movements. Made with "Splash & Go" technology, it does not require pre-soaking—just wet it and you’re ready to go. Add water as needed during sharpening.
After use, rinse the stone with cold water—do not use a sponge or detergent. Stand it upright to let the water drain naturally. Do not dry it with a cloth; let it air-dry at room temperature.
Note: The stone is fragile, so protect it from falls.
